Here are some top performers from last week's Illinois high school sports scene:
Quarterback John Whitelaw of Hinsdale Central completed 10 of 15 passes for 193 yards, threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two touchdowns in Hinsdale’s 41-13 win over Downers Grove North.
Tommy Rees of Lake Forest passed for 335 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 38-35 win over Grant.
Lyons quarterback Ryan Mitchell completed 16 of 21 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns in Lyons’ 45-21 win over Proviso West.
Kaneland quarterback Joe Camiliere threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another as Kaneland defeated DeKalb.
East St. Louis senior running back Courtney Molton rushed for two touchdowns and 279 yards as the Flyers defeated Belleville East 35-7.
Cody Hubbs blocked a 36-yard field goal attempt as time ran out, helping Bloomington defeated Normal West 16-14.
Marion running back Aaron McFadden had three touchdowns in the first quarter as Marion clobbered Centralia 63-0. McFadden rushed only 10 times for 112 yards in the first quarter before the Wildcats pulled their first team.
Senior running back David Mallow scored on runs of 71 and 67 yards among his 208 yards rushing to lead Herrin to a 21-7 win over Massac County.
The defense for Christopher-Zeigler held Carmi-White running back Logan Rogers to 91 yards, the first game of the season in which he did not gain at least 100 yards, and the Bearcats beat the Bulldogs 14-0.
With 19 seconds remaining in the game, Cary-Grove quarterback Tyler Krebs completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Alex Hembrey, lifting Cary-Grove to a 31-28 win over McHenry that preserved the Trojans’ unbeaten season.
Elgin Larkin running back Jalen Williams rushed for 303 yards and his team defeated Streamwood 47-6.
Harrisburg senior running back Dawson Montfort rushed for 219 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-7 win over Benton. Montfort had touchdown runs of 35,28, 95 and 55 yards.
Ace Henricks intercepted a pass near the goal line as time expired to preserve Brown County’s 10-3 win over unbeaten Triopia.
